Where water gets in

Flood barrier on a home front door

Front doors

The opening water reaches first. A barrier cut to your exact door, ready before the storm, invisible the rest of the year.

Flood barrier installed across a home garage door

Garage entrances

Single and double garages, up to 18 ft with a center post. No more building a sandbag wall in the rain.

Flood barrier across backyard French doors of a canal home

French doors and patios

Wide sliders and French doors at the back of the house, where canal and yard water comes in first.

Other home installations

This is a recent install at a South Florida home: three panels across the garage, below the hurricane shutter, locked with our patent-pending two-clamp system, one clamp on each side. One person deploys it in about 10 minutes.

Two clamps seal the whole stack.

Other flood barrier systems secure every panel separately: stack a panel, fasten it, stack the next. Their own instructions put deployment at about an hour. Our patent-pending two-clamp system works the other way: one clamp on each side compresses the whole stack at once, whatever the height. Slide the numbered panels in, tighten the two clamps, and the opening is sealed. One person. About 10 minutes.

Materials and performance

  • Panels: 6063-T5 anodized aluminum, 220 x 35 mm profile, 2 mm wall.
  • Seals: EPDM compression seals at the sill, on the sides and between panels.
  • Hardware: stainless steel, marine grade, built for Florida coastal humidity.
  • Water held back: 26 in standard with 3 panels.
  • Leakage: 0.02 to 0.20 L/h per meter in the SGS-witnessed test to BS 851188-2. The limit is 40 L/h.
  • Impact: 0 mm deformation after a 50 kg impact.

Full test conditions and the technical package

Installed by our own crew across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, and shipped nationwide from North Miami, FL. The seal is not a claim: it is the one SGS measured at 0.02 to 0.20 L/h against a 40 L/h limit.

Before you buy any flood barrier, ask these six questions

Any seller should answer all six with numbers, not adjectives. Here are ours.

  • What is the panel wall thickness?
    Ours: 2 mm, in a 220 x 35 mm profile of 6063-T5 anodized aluminum.
  • Was it tested to a published standard, witnessed by an independent lab?
Ours: yes. SGS witnessed the test to BS 851188-2; the summary is public and the full package is sent on request.
  • Who cuts it to size, and where?
Ours: cut to your exact opening in our North Miami shop, after your measurements are confirmed.
  • Who installs it, and who do you call if something goes wrong?
Ours: our own crew installs locally, and we are at 1851 NE 146th St, North Miami, with a phone that gets answered.
  • What warranty backs it, and can you still get parts in five years?
Ours: 5 years on panels, posts and hardware, 3 years on seals and 1 year on our installation, in writing, and parts from our own stock.
  • What water height was actually tested, not just claimed?
Ours: witnessed by SGS under BS 851188-2, with 0 mm deformation after a 50 kg impact.

Still using sandbags?

Flood barrier with center post across a home garage entrance

South Florida homes now flood several times a year outside hurricane season, and the worst flood in Fort Lauderdale's recorded history was an April rain event. A house that relies on sandbags pays in labor, storage and disposal every single time, and the seal still leaks at every joint.

Sandbags WDS barrier
Deployment Several people, hours, every event One person, about 10 minutes
Seal Leaks at every joint, no compression EPDM compression seal on sill, sides and between panels
Reuse Single use, wet bags go to the dumpster Rinse, dry, store. Reusable for years
Storage Piles of bags and sand in the garage Numbered panels stored flat, channels on the frame
Appearance Sandbags at the front door Slim channels on the frame, nothing else visible

How it works

  1. Measuring visit

We measure every door and opening at your home, and confirm your estimate before anything is cut.

  2. Cut to size and installed

We cut the panels in North Miami and our crew mounts the permanent side channels on each opening.

  3. You deploy it yourself

Storm coming? Slide the numbered panels into the channels and tighten the clamps. One person, about 10 minutes.

  4. Remove and reuse

After the storm, take the panels out, rinse and store them. Nothing blocks the door the rest of the year.

What stays on your house

Almost nothing. Only the slim side channels stay on the frame, in a neutral aluminum finish. The numbered panels live in storage and come out only when water threatens. Nothing blocks your door the rest of the year.

You put it up yourself. One person seals an opening in about 10 minutes with the two-clamp system we supply, and we walk you through the first deployment at installation.

What it costs. Barriers start at $1,590 per opening. Most homes protect the front door and the garage: typically $5,000 to $6,000 for several openings. The estimator above gives the price; the measurement confirmation visit verifies every measurement before fabrication, and the installation date is coordinated at that visit. For scale, FEMA estimates about $25,000 in damage from just 1 inch of floodwater inside a home.

Starting prices

Homes with several openings get one estimate for the whole house.

A canal home that flooded, now protected
