FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much water can the barrier hold back?

Our standard 3-panel system protects up to 26 inches (2.2 ft) of water. For deeper protection, additional panels or center posts can be added.

How long does installation take?

Typically half a day for a single opening. Our certified team handles installation, testing, and training on how to deploy your system.

Do I need a permit for installation?

In most residential cases, no permit is required. If needed, WDS provides full engineered drawings for approval.

Can I install it myself?

While the system is simple to operate, we recommend professional installation to ensure proper sealing and performance.

How do I maintain the barrier?

After use, simply rinse with clean water, dry thoroughly, and store indoors. We suggest inspecting the seals twice a year.

Will it affect the look of my home?

Not at all. The side channels are slim and designed to blend seamlessly with your façade, keeping a clean, modern appearance.

Can it protect more than just garage doors?

Yes. Our modular barriers can be installed on doors, storefronts, windows, stairwells, and more.

What materials are used?

Each system is made of aerospace-grade aluminum with stainless steel reinforcements and EPDM gaskets for a watertight seal.

What’s included with my order?

Your package includes the full barrier system, custom-fit side channels, installation, and a warranty-backed support plan.

How long will my system last?

With proper care, your WDS barrier can last for decades — ready to protect, season after season.
