Your MSFBA-35T barrier is a stack of three aluminum panels held between two wall brackets. The brackets stay anchored to the building permanently. Before a storm you stack the panels, lock them down, and the barrier is watertight in minutes. This guide covers deployment, removal, and care. Bracket installation is done by the WDS certified team.

Su barrera MSFBA-35T es una pila de tres tablas de aluminio sostenidas entre dos brackets de pared. Los brackets quedan anclados al edificio de forma permanente. Antes de una tormenta usted apila las tablas, las traba, y la barrera queda estanca en minutos. Esta guía cubre el despliegue, el retiro y el cuidado. La instalación de los brackets la hace el equipo certificado de WDS.

IMPORTANT / IMPORTANTE

The three panels are not interchangeable. Each one has a number and a position: 1 bottom, 2 middle, 3 top. Installing them in the wrong order will cause leaks and can damage the aluminum.

Las tres tablas no son intercambiables. Cada una tiene un número y una posición: 1 abajo, 2 en el medio, 3 arriba. Instalarlas en otro orden produce filtraciones y puede dañar el aluminio.

02What comes with your barrier Qué viene con su barrera

TIP / CONSEJO

Keep both Allen keys tied together and stored in a fixed spot next to the opening (or inside one of the panels) with a label. In an emergency the 12 mm key is the one that goes missing; it is not in a typical household set.

03Know your panels Conozca sus tablas

Each panel carries a position sticker. If a sticker is missing, identify the panel by its edge, as shown below.

The floor under it must be clean and free of grit.

2Middle panel

Thin rubber gasket along its bottom edge.
It rests on the top edge of panel 1. The gasket seals the joint and protects the aluminum when the stack is pressed down.
Goes in second, gasket down.

3Top panel

Same thin gasket as panel 2, plus a stainless steel plate in its top channel at each end.
The locking mechanism presses on this plate, not on bare aluminum. The plate spreads the load, keeps the screw from digging into the channel, and keeps the pressure steady.
Goes in last, gasket down, plates up.

Misma goma fina que la tabla 2, más una chapa de acero inoxidable en el canal superior, en cada extremo.
El mecanismo de traba aprieta sobre esta chapa, no sobre el aluminio. La chapa reparte la carga, evita que el tornillo se hunda en el canal y mantiene la presión constante.
Entra última, con la goma hacia abajo y las chapas hacia arriba.

04Deployment, step by step Despliegue, paso a paso

Two people make this faster on long spans, but one person can do it. Allow 10 to 15 minutes per opening the first time.

Con dos personas es más rápido en aberturas largas, pero una persona puede hacerlo. Calcule 10 a 15 minutos por abertura la primera vez.

Clear and clean Despejar y limpiar

Remove anything in the opening. Sweep the floor where panel 1 will sit and wipe the inside of both bracket channels. Grit under the gasket is the number one cause of leaks.

Check the gaskets Revisar las gomas

Run a hand along the thick gasket of panel 1 and the thin gaskets of panels 2 and 3. They must be clean, soft, and uncut. Wipe them with a damp cloth if needed.

Pase la mano por la goma gruesa de la tabla 1 y las gomas finas de las tablas 2 y 3. Deben estar limpias, blandas y sin cortes. Límpielas con un paño húmedo si hace falta.

Hold panel 1 with the thick gasket facing down and the sticker readable. Lower both ends into the bracket channels at the same time and let it slide to the floor. Press it down by hand so the gasket sits flat.

Same motion. Thin gasket down, resting on the panel below. Panel 3 goes last with its steel plates facing up, one at each bracket.

DO NOT / NO HACER

Never force a panel that does not slide freely. Lift it out and check the channel for debris. Never hammer on the aluminum.

Nunca fuerce una tabla que no deslice libre. Sáquela y revise el canal por suciedad. Nunca golpee el aluminio con un martillo.

Insert the locking mechanisms Colocar los mecanismos de traba

Seat one locking mechanism in the top channel of panel 3 at each bracket, directly over the steel plate. The large screw points down onto the plate; the small screw points sideways toward the bracket.

Asiente un mecanismo de traba en el canal superior de la tabla 3 en cada bracket, directamente sobre la chapa de acero. El tornillo grande apunta hacia abajo, sobre la chapa; el tornillo chico apunta de costado, hacia el bracket.

On each side, tighten the small screw until the mechanism is pressed firmly against the bracket. This seats the end of the panel stack against the bracket. Snug, not brutal.

Large screw second (Allen 12 mm), alternating Después el tornillo grande (Allen 12 mm), alternando

Give the large screw on the LEFT two turns, then the RIGHT two turns. Repeat, side to side, until both are firm and the stack no longer moves. Count your turns so both sides end up equal.

Tighten evenly. If one side gets ten turns, the other side gets ten turns. Uneven tightening tilts the stack, compresses the floor gasket on one side only, and leaves a gap on the other.

Apriete parejo. Si un lado lleva diez vueltas, el otro lado lleva diez vueltas. Un apriete desparejo inclina la pila, comprime la goma del piso de un solo lado y deja luz del otro.

Final check Revisión final

Look along the floor line: the thick gasket should be compressed evenly end to end. Push the top of the barrier: no movement. Confirm both mechanisms sit on their steel plates. Put the keys back in their spot.

05Removal after the event Retiro después del evento

Wait for the water to drain Espere a que baje el agua

Do not release the barrier while water is still standing against it.

Release in reverse Libere en orden inverso

Loosen the large screws first, alternating sides. Then the small screws. Lift out both locking mechanisms.

Afloje primero los tornillos grandes, alternando lados. Después los chicos. Retire los dos mecanismos de traba.

Lift the panels: 3, then 2, then 1 Saque las tablas: 3, después 2, después 1

Lift each panel straight up and out of the channels. Rinse mud and salt off with fresh water. Dry the gaskets.

Store flat and dry Guarde plano y seco

Store the panels flat or on edge, indoors, out of the sun, with nothing resting on the gaskets. Keep the locking mechanisms and keys together with the panels.

Guarde las tablas planas o de canto, bajo techo, fuera del sol, sin nada apoyado sobre las gomas. Guarde los mecanismos y las llaves junto con las tablas.

06Care and seasonal check Cuidado y revisión de temporada

Do a full dry run once a year, before the rainy season (May), and after any work near the opening. Gaskets: clean, soft, no cuts or flat spots; replace if hardened. Brackets: firmly anchored, channels clear, no loose fasteners. Screws: turn freely; a drop of light oil on the threads. Keys: both present, in their spot. Stickers: legible; ask WDS for replacements.

Haga una prueba completa una vez al año, antes de la temporada de lluvias (mayo), y después de cualquier obra cerca de la abertura. Gomas: limpias, blandas, sin cortes ni zonas aplastadas; reemplazar si endurecieron. Brackets: bien anclados, canales despejados, sin tornillería floja. Tornillos: giran libres; una gota de aceite liviano en la rosca. Llaves: las dos presentes, en su lugar. Stickers: legibles; pida repuestos a WDS.
